Official London increases the pressure on Germany against the background of the lack of a decision on the provision of long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz came under an even greater barrage of criticism from British government officials.
UK criticises Scholz for refusing to supply Taurus missiles to Ukraine
According to Bloomberg, the British authorities have tried to convince Berlin to approve a favourable decision regarding Ukraine finally, but to no avail.
Official London is known to have proposed solutions to overcome Germany's resistance to providing missiles, including an exchange agreement under which Britain would supply Kyiv with more of its own Storm Shadow missiles, and Germany would, in return, give Britain long-range missiles in exchange.
Alicia Kearns, head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Commons, also shared her opinion on this matter.
According to her, Scholz's statements are incorrect and irresponsible.
Why Scholz is blocking the supply of Taurus missiles to Ukraine
Recently, German leader Olaf Scholz again rejected the idea of providing Taurus missiles to the Armed Forces.
He states that this would allegedly mean Germany would become a party to the war with Russia.
According to him, what official London and Paris do regarding target control and accompanying target control cannot be done in Germany.
