Intelligence analysts of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain do not record significant successes of the Ukrainian military or criminals from the occupation army of the Russian Federation at the front during the last weeks.

What are the key efforts of the Russian occupiers at the front in Ukraine focused on?

Representatives of British intelligence point out that the main goal of the Russian occupiers remains the encirclement of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region.

The Ministry of Defense of Great Britain emphasises that, although at the end of December last year, the Russian occupiers managed to achieve success in advancing in the Mariinka area, the criminals of the Russian army were unable to take advantage of this and advance neither westward toward Kurakhove nor southward in the side of Novomykhailivka.

Representatives of British intelligence concluded that the Avdiivka surroundings would remain a key objective of the Russian occupiers.

However, Russia has achieved very limited territorial gains at the cost of significant losses in both equipment and personnel.

The northern town of Stepove remains under Ukrainian control, which secures access to the Avdiivka supply route. Russian attempts to isolate the town are unlikely for at least the next week, the UK intelligence concludes.

What is known about the situation in the Donetsk region

According to the information of AFU serviceman Yevhen Yievlev, in a comment to the journalists of the Espresso TV channel, the Russian invaders refused to carry out attacks in the Horlivka area due to the threat of too high losses.

The issue of fortifications in the Horlivka direction is quite delicate, and I do not want to disclose too many details. I can only say a few important things. Avdiivka is to the right of our positions, Bakhmut direction is to the left and this area is on fire — from Kurdiumivka to Andriivka. We can see some arteries through which the enemy is constantly moving equipment to these areas. And we are quite successfully destroying this equipment, Ievlev notes.

The military officer added that the failed offensive attempts of the Russian occupiers in the Horlivka region invariably ended in numerous losses for them.

That is, the enemy definitely had and still has a desire to go and change this front line. They would not mind capturing our positions and stopping the attacks on their convoys. However, the Russians have not yet done so. They are well aware of the losses they will suffer, Ievlev explains.
