A new checkpoint will appear on the border between Ukraine and Hungary. The government will make the relevant decision on February 23.
A new checkpoint, "Velyka Palad — Nagyhódos", will be opened on the Hungarian-Ukrainian border
Ukraine's PM Denys Shmyhal says the "Velyka Palad — Nagyhódos" checkpoint will be open for passenger cars, which will help reduce queues and speed up border crossing for our citizens.
In addition, according to Shmyhal, there is an agreement to expand the work of another checkpoint on the border with Hungary — "Luzhanka — Beregsurány".
The Prime Minister noted that work is underway in many directions in expanding logistics and Ukrainian exports, "and it gives results."
What is the situation on Ukraine's border?
Polish farmers have blocked six checkpoints on the border with Ukraine, due to which several thousand trucks, including those transporting humanitarian and important cargoes for Ukraine, are currently standing in queues on the territory of Poland.
As an alternative, Ukraine plans to open an additional route through the Danube River to increase exports of agricultural products.
The launch of such a route, as the Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov said on February 21, will take place in the coming days.
It should be noted that the opening of the "Velyka Palad — Nagyhódos" checkpoint was announced in 2019.
