The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security of Italy signed a memorandum on the joint development of renewable energy.

According to the signed document, the ministries will cooperate in energy transition and renewable energy sources.

The corresponding document was signed by Deputy Minister of Energy Svitlana Grynchuk and Vice Minister of the Italian Environment Ministry Vannia Gava within the framework of the UN Climate Change Conference COP28, which is ongoing in Dubai.

In particular, the memorandum envisages cooperation in the following areas of interest:

Ukraine built physical protection of energy facilities and backup power supply schemes for the first time

The Kyivan Municipal Military Administration (KMMA) chief, Serhiy Popko, announced this, commenting on the prospects of Ukraine's survival during the current autumn-winter period.

According to him, this is one of the most important issues that concerns citizens.

But last winter brought us both disaster and experience. Work was carried out together with power engineers and utility workers to restore the efficiency of the Kyiv thermal power plants, Popko noted.

He emphasized that Ukraine created physical protection for the energy infrastructure for the first time globally during the spring and summer.

Facilities for the physical protection of energy facilities were built (for the first time in the world), the KMMA chief noted.

In addition, backup power schemes and options for overcoming possible consequences were prepared for the first time in the world.

Our priorities this year are physical protection of important facilities and network redundancy, Popko noted.

At the same time, according to him, it will be a consolidation of efforts — air defense, authorities, energy workers and communal services.
