Ukraine begins taking DNA samples abroad to search for missing persons

The collection of information on the collection of DNA samples abroad for the search of missing persons on the territory of Ukraine has started. They can be submitted by citizens of Ukraine, foreigners and stateless persons who wish to find their loved ones, Lubinets wrote.

According to him, the places where DNA samples can be handed in operate based on "Dokument" State Enterprise. DNA samples will be sent to National Police investigators to search and identify the missing persons.

Preliminary applications will be accepted until January 15 by mail at [email protected].

The message should state:

  • your contact details (name, phone number);

  • the address of the unit to which you plan to apply;

  • estimated date of possible application.

The main goal of such a DNA collection project is to identify persons who have gone missing on the territory of Ukraine, including under exceptional circumstances.

This can speed up searching for people who have disappeared under exceptional circumstances.
