President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-chief Staff. At it, they listened to the summary of the command of the Armed Forces and the report on the construction of defence fortifications.

What was discussed at the Staff meeting?

Zelenskyy said that at the meeting, they listened to detailed reports from the command regarding the situation on the battlefield.

Reports of the AFU Commnader-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, AFU General Staff chief Anatoliy Bargylevych, commanders in the field. Kupyansky, Lymansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdiivka, Mariinka and Southern directions, marine operations.

The Minister of Defence Rustem Umierov and the head of the Ministry of Strategical Industries, Oleksandr Kamyshin, also gave reports on providing the front with everything necessary — the actual and future arrival of shells, missiles, and other weapons and their production.

Another critical topic is fortifications. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal's report on the pace of construction of new defence lines. Protecting 2,000 kilometres of three lanes is a massive task, but the pace is good now. I count on timely completion.

The Ministry of Defence showed the construction of defence lines

On Mar. 8, the official MOD website published a photo of the construction of borders, particularly in the Sumy region and Zaporizhzhia.

The Deputy Minister of Defence, Lieutenant General Ivan Gavrilyuk, inspected the works during the trip.

Objectively, recently, engineering works on the construction of defense lines have been carried out at an accelerated pace. The weather has been contributing to this for several weeks now. New forces and technical capabilities are involved. The government allocated the necessary funds, said Havryliuk.
