According to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, when Ukraine receives F-16 fighter jets from allies, it will be able to strike legitimate enemy military targets even on Russian territory.

AFU will use the F-16 to attack Russia

Journalists asked Jens Stoltenberg when Ukraine will be able to deploy F-16 fighters.

According to him, it is impossible to predict.

The NATO Secretary General stressed that all of Ukraine's allies want them there as soon as possible, but also pointed out that the effect of the F-16 will be stronger if the pilots are well trained and the maintenance crews and other support personnel are well trained.

So, I think we have to listen to the military experts exactly when we will be ready to or when allies will be ready to start sending and delivering the F-16sThe sooner, the better.

He added that each partner will decide whether to supply F-16s to Ukraine, and allies have different policies.

Jens Stoltenberg once again reminded us that the war in Ukraine is an act of aggression.

Ukraine has the right to self-defense, including striking legitimate Russian military targets outside Ukraine, the NATO Secretary General stressed.

Ukraine switches to F-16 as an emergency

The Air Force speaker, Col Yuriy Ignat, said recently that Ukraine is transiting to the F-16 as an emergency, as no other country in the world has done.

Since it [F-16 — Ed.] is a multi-role aircraft, they must also practise tasks involving ground and surface targets. Therefore, our pilots are doing this in an emergency manner, as I mentioned — in an accelerated mode, because the usual retraining course takes 2 years. And we are doing it much faster, — added Ignat.
