Ukraine returned the bodies of 66 more dead soldiers

Ukraine carried out several measures, as a result of which it was possible to return the bodies (remains) of 66 dead soldiers to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government.

AFU will ensure the transportation of repatriated bodies and remains to designated state specialized institutions for transfer to representatives of law enforcement agencies and forensic medical experts to identify the victims, the message says.

Representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Emergency Service, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Coordination Headquarters, the State Security Service, etc. participated in the return of the bodies of the dead.

We thank the International Committee of the Red Cross and personally the head of the ICRC delegation, Jürg Eglin, for their assistance, the message says.

Return of the bodies of the fallen defenders

Russia and Ukraine regularly exchange military bodies. The last such exchange took place on November 22, when Ukraine returned the bodies of 94 dead soldiers.

At the same time, the head of the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, Yuriy Taranyuk, recently said that the Russian Federation is handing over to Ukraine the bodies of soldiers who were officially recognized as prisoners of war. At the same time, there were no reports of deterioration of their health or severe condition. This calls into question the quality of work or the existence of a medical commission in Russia.
