The British Ministry of Defense has officially confirmed that it will hand over two Sandown warships to Ukraine.

Navy Coalition. The UK to hand over two minesweepers to Ukraine

As mentioned earlier, Great Britain and Norway launched a new coalition of naval forces to support Ukraine in transferring ships and equipment to Kyiv to strengthen its ability to operate at sea.

On December 11, the head of the British Ministry of Defense, Grant Shapps, officially announced the decision to provide two minesweepers of the Royal Navy for the Navy of Ukraine.

What is essential to understand is that the newly formed coalition will provide long-term support to Kyiv, including training, equipment and infrastructure to strengthen security in the Black Sea.

The Navy coalition will gain momentum

Official London also confirmed that British MOD chief Grant Shapps intends to announce new details of his team's military support for Ukraine.

As the representatives of the defence department assure, the support within the naval coalition will be long-term. It will help Kyiv transform its naval forces, making them more compatible with Western allies and strengthening security in the Black Sea.

These minesweepers will provide Ukraine with vital life-saving capabilities at sea and open up vital export routes that have been severely curtailed since (Russian President) Putin launched his illegal full-scale invasion, Shapps said.
