Ukraine's Armed Forces may launch a new offensive in 2025 — WSJ

AFU

The Wall Street Journal stated if Ukrainian defenders can successfully hold the defence in 2024, AFU will be able to launch a new offensive next year,

A new AFU offensive may begin as early as 2025

According to American journalists, they decided to talk with the head of Ukrainian intelligence, Kyryll Budanov.

In addition, they draw attention to the fact that, according to a recent study by the London-based Royal United Services Institute, the occupation army of the Russian Federation will reach the peak of its offensive capabilities by the end of this year.

After that, Russia will face a severe shortage of armoured vehicles.

Ukraine's MOD chief explains that the critical question is whether Kyiv's international partners are ready to provide Ukraine with ammunition for the whole year while Ukraine's Armed Forces prepare for their operation.

DIU chief, Let. Gen. Kyrylo Budanov, is also convinced that the Russians "will not have enough strength" to occupy Donetsk and Luhansk regions in 2024.

Budanov explained how Ukraine could defeat Russia in a protracted war

According to the DIU chief, Kyryl Budanov, the country with a more robust economy and logistics will win in a long war.

The question is how to allocate resources, how to use what is available, and how to plan supply lines. In a protracted war, the side that has a more powerful economy and logistics wins, — explained the DIU chief.

He also confirmed that, as of today, the situation on the battlefields in Ukraine remains complex but not critical.

It is simply a high-intensity conflict using the full range of available weapons. We are not on the verge of using weapons of mass destruction, but everything else, from submarines to strategic aircraft, has been in use for a long time.
