The Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War (CHTPOW) collects and analyses all the necessary information regarding the Russian Il-76 aircraft crash in the Russian Federation. Russia claims that Ukrainians were allegedly captured on it.

CHTPOW statement regarding the Il-76 crash in Russia

The Coordination HQ commented on the information published in enemy propaganda resources about the downfall of the Russian Il-76 military transport plane, which was allegedly transporting Ukrainian prisoners of war.

The coordination headquarters and other specialised structures collect and analyse all the necessary information.

There, media and citizens were urged to refrain from spreading unverified information until official statements or comments by authorised persons or bodies were made public.

We emphasize that the enemy is actively carrying out special information operations directed against Ukraine, which are aimed at destabilizing Ukrainian society.

The HQ asks to be responsible for distributing sensitive information and using only official sources.

Ukraine's ombudsman, Dmytro Lubinets, also discovered all the event details and analysed the information received.

The enemy is insidious. And we all know what terrible methods the Russian Federation can use to destabilise Ukrainian society. Do not be provoked.

The Il-76 plane crash in Russia's Belgorod region

On the morning of January 24, an Il-76 military plane crashed in the Belgorod region. The governor of the region, Gladkov, reported that "an event has occurred."

Russian Telegram channels report that an Il-76 military plane has crashed in the region.

Russian Telegram channels and Russia's Ministry of Defense stated that Ukrainian prisoners of war were allegedly on board the plane.

"Suspilne" reports that Ukraine's MOD cannot confirm that the Ukrainian Defence Forces hit the plane because "the information is still being clarified."

There have been no official comments from the Ukrainian authorities yet.
