Ukraine's MFA chief tells the deadlines for approval of US aid to Ukraine

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine
Dmytro Kuleba

According to Ukraine's MFA chief, Dmytro Kuleba, the US Congress should approve President Joe Biden's request for financing aid to Kyiv at the end of this month.

What is known about the deadline for US Congress approval of Biden's request for aid to Ukraine

Here the question is not whether to give or not to give aid to Ukraine. Now the discussion is about borders. But it's already the end of January, there's a war, we have to make a decision, Kuleba notes.

The minister emphasised that the end of January is the deadline for Congress to approve Biden's request for further assistance to Ukraine.

End of January. This is what our American partners tell us. They are all optimistic about the result. They say that the situation at the border is to blame, — explains the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Kuleba on the critical priorities of Ukraine in the war during 2024

According to the Ukrainian MFA chief, the critical priority for Ukraine this year is to gain superiority over the criminal army of the Russian Federation in the air.

In 2024, of course, the priority is to drop Russia from the air. Because whoever controls the airspace will determine how and when the war will end. And this will require the provision of aircraft to Ukraine, the minister noted.

He emphasised that the transfer of American F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine is already being implemented.

The minister also added that to win Ukraine in the war, long-range missiles, drones, and electronic warfare systems should be provided in addition to aircraft.

He noted that Ukraine has significantly increased the production of drones.

Kuleba speaks about the transfer of funds from Russia's frozen assets to Ukraine.

In an address to Western partners, the head of the Foreign Ministry emphasised that Ukraine needs help at the expense of Russian assets blocked by the West and not a frozen conflict by pushing for negotiations with the Kremlin.

We need frozen assets of the Russian Federation, not a frozen conflict. This should be the way forward in order to send a clear signal to everyone in the world: if you dare to break the rules, you will be forced to pay for it, Kuleba emphasised.

In this way, he answered some "experts" that, probably, Ukraine should go to freeze the war.
