Ukraine's MPs return a bill about mobilisation to government for review

The Parliament of Ukraine decided to return the draft law on improving mobilisation to the government for revision.

This information was officially confirmed by the leader of the "Servant of the People" faction, David Arakhamia.

According to the results of the meeting, the draft law is returned to the initiator. At the same time, we pass on the proposals developed in the committee and working groups.

According to him, on January 11, a closed meeting with the military command and a session of the Conciliation Board took place in closed mode.

Davyd Arakhamiia draws attention to the fact that AFU Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Chief of the General Staff Serhiy Shaptala, Defense Minister Rustem Umierov, the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada, heads of factions and committees were present.

The draft law No. 10378 on the improvement of mobilisation, military registration and military service caused a lot of discussion.

The faction head notes that MPs understand the military command's request and are ready to meet it, but not all norms can be supported.

Some provisions directly violate human rights, some are not optimally formulated. This was openly told to the military command.

Arakhamiia also emphasised that all political forces understood and supported the need for mobilisation.

The mobilisation draft law in Ukraine: what is known at this moment

On December 25, the government submitted the draft law to parliament No. 10378, "On amendments to certain Ukraine's legislative acts on improving certain issues of mobilisation, military registration and military service".

He provoked a frenzy in Ukrainian society.

The Cabinet of Ministers considers it reasonable to introduce many restrictions against Ukrainians who have not fulfilled their obligations regarding mobilisation preparations and mobilisation.

For example, the fines should be increased for violators of the rules of military registration and defence legislation, and the refusal to undergo a medical examination should result in imprisonment in the same way as for evasion of mobilisation.

Mykhailo Podolyak, the adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, recently announced that the mobilisation draft law will be adopted by the Verkhovna Rada for a vote only after discussion and amendments.
