Ukraine's official suggests a purpose of Russia's statements for accusing Ukraine of the IL-76 crash

Plane

An adviser to the Mariupol's mayor, Petro Andryushchenko, suggests that the Russian Federation could probably stage a provocation by spreading information about the Ukrainian prisoners on board the Il-76.

Why Russia spreads information about Ukrainian prisoners on Il-76 board

The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that there were allegedly Ukrainian prisoners on board the IL-76 plane that crashed in the Belgorod region on the morning of January 24.

Petro Andryushchenko suggests that the Russian Federation could thus stage a provocation and disrupt the exchange of prisoners.

There is no doubt that more than dozens of our POWs were tortured to death by the Russians. If you have ever talked to those who returned home, you will not have a second of doubt. Now nothing will prevent them from handing over the lists of those "killed in the plane", actually killed by the Russians in prisons, our Heroes. And even scatter parts of bodies and the bodies themselves in the area where the plane fell, Andryushchenko noted.

He noted that the Russians may once again repeat their cynical scenario.

Just keep it in your head as a possible scenario. Let me remind you that they [said that they] did not bombard the Drama Theater, the Maternity Hospital, and Mariupol in the princely state was a ruin before the full-scale invasion. According to the version of the Russians. Therefore, there will be enough inhumanity and cynicism there, — concluded the adviser.

Please note that all information about the Ukrainian prisoners on board is currently unconfirmed. It is spread only by the Russian mass media.

By the way, the tactics of intimidation by the occupiers of Ukrainians are not new, and one of the most terrible crimes of the Russians was the death of more than half a hundred captured "Azov" people in the occupied Olenivka on the night of July 28-29, 2022.

At the time, the Russian Federation said that this happened allegedly as a result of artillery shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Still, by a strange coincidence, for some reason, only Ukrainians died, and the workers of the colony and the occupiers, who were supposed to protect our military, were not injured.

What is known about the Il-76 plane crash in Russia

At 10:48 a.m., the governor of the Russian Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that "an incident has occurred" in the Korochan district, and an investigative team and the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees are working on the spot.

Russian Telegram channels report that an Il-76 military plane has crashed in the region. Allegedly, there were 63 people on board, and all of them died.

"Suspilne" reports that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine cannot confirm that the Ukrainian Defence Forces hit the plane because "the information is still being clarified."

There are no official statements from the Ukrainian authorities regarding the downing of the plane.

By the way, Il-76 is a heavy military aircraft designed to transport equipment and cargo for various purposes. Depending on the modification, the plane can deliver cargo with a maximum weight of 28 to 60 tons, from 3,600 to 4,200 km. The crew consists of six or seven people.
