According to the Ukrainian PM Denys Shmyhal, Ukraine is going through the heating season for the first time using its gas.

Ukraine was able to provide itself with its gas fully

We are going through this heating season for the first time in the history of Ukraine using our own gas, the head of government said.

Denys Shmyhal notes that "Naftogaz of Ukraine" and the state-owned enterprise "Ukrgazvydobuvannya" have increased the production volume by 11% and opened new gas production wells of quite a large volume.

Currently, we have about 10 billion cubic meters of gas in our storage facilities. And we are really going through this heating season on gas produced exclusively by Ukraine, the Prime Minister added.

In addition, it is emphasised that our country is also going through this winter with a balanced power system.

What will happen to tariffs for electricity, gas and heating

According to Denys Shmyhal, electricity, gas, and heat tariffs will not change until the end of the heating season.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers officially confirmed that the tariff for electricity for the population will continue to be 2 hryvnias 64 kopecks per kWh gas tariff — 7 hryvnias 96 kopecks per m3.

In addition, UAH 50 billion will be allocated to pay subsidies during the current year. This is 25% more than last year. Three million Ukrainian families, all those who need help, will receive them.

The energy system is balanced. We became part of ENTSO-E, increased the possibility of electricity import to 1.7 GW. This helps during Russian attacks and peak loads, — emphasised Denys Shmyhal.
