The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, had a telephone conversation with his Polish colleague, Donald Tusk. The parties discussed the blockade of the Ukrainian border by Polish farmers.

What did Shmyhal offer Tusk to solve the blockade of Poland's border

[I] had a conversation with the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk. Shmyhal noted that the fundamental topic is the situation at the border and its associated risks.

According to him, the situation with Ukrainian grain scattered on the road is unacceptable. Such radical rhetoric of Polish farmers is intolerable.

I suggested to my Polish colleague in the dialogue between our governments to find a solution that would support Ukrainian farmers and not harm Polish farmers, the prime minister added.

Shmyhal also noted that there is now an increase in imports, in particular grain, to the EU from Russia and third countries.

According to the Prime Minister, Ukraine and Poland should join forces to prevent Russian products from entering the European market.

"They must be united against common challenges and enemies that threaten the security of Europe. He thanked the Polish people for their strong support during the war," the head of the Cabinet emphasised.

What preceded

We will remind you that last week, Polish farmers blocked three checkpoints on the border with Ukraine: "Medyka — Shehyni", "Hrebenne — Rava-Ruska" and "Dorogusk — Yagodyn".

The movement of trucks is significantly complicated at the checkpoints listed above.
