The head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, notes that Ukraine will continue its attacks deep inside Russia.

Ukraine's attacks behind enemy lines

The Financial Time writes that Budanov's team carries out attacks behind enemy lines in the territory occupied by Russia and in Russia itself.

However, the intelligence chief himself rarely takes credit for these attacks, forcing the Russian Federation and the rest of the world to guess about the scope of his activities.

Among the latest achievements of the DIU this week is the launch of attack drones all the way to St. Petersburg, where they hit an oil terminal, as well as a powder factory and an oil depot in the Bryansk region.

Such tactics, the newspaper writes, have sometimes irritated Ukraine's Western partners, as some countries fear that it will provoke a brutal and possibly even nuclear response from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

But Budanov is undeterred by such concerns and vows to continue operating deep inside Russia to sabotage Putin's war machine.

We do not foresee drastic changes in the near future. Everything we have done, we will continue to do, — said Budanov.

UAV attacks on Russia: what is known

On January 18, Ukrainian drones attacked the "St. Petersburg Oil Terminal", which is the largest Russian terminal for transshipment of oil products in the Baltic region.

A total of three drones were launched, two of which were suppressed by EW and fell into the Gulf of Finland. At the same time, the third drone was shot down over the territory of the oil terminal, as a result of which a fire started.

On January 19, Ukraine attacked an oil depot in the city of Klintsi, Bryansk region, where a large-scale fire broke out. Drones also later hit the Tambov powder factory.

On the night of January 21, explosions rang out in the port of Ust-Luga in the Leningrad Region of the Russian Federation. There, a fire broke out in the terminal of the Novatek gas company.
