On 4 January, the Ukrainian air force launched a large-scale air attack on Sevastopol, Crimea. The Russian army command post was hit, and more. This is not the first strike by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU), which forces the Russian occupiers to seriously reformat their defence system.
System of protection of occupiers in Crimea has been breached
As a result of the attack by the AFU on Russian military facilities in the temporarily occupied Sevastopol on 4 January, a command post was destroyed and the occupiers' defence system was seriously damaged.
This was reported by Natalia Humeniuk, a spokeswoman for the Southern Ukrainian Defence Forces.
According to her, this is not the first damage that forces the occupiers to seriously reformat their defence system.
Humeniuk also said that the Russian military has recently moved the Shahed drones launch sites from Cape Chauda after several powerful attacks by the AFU.
The spokeswoman also believes that the explosions near the Crimean bridge are more of a smokescreen and an "attempt to protect this facility".
Attack on Sevastopol: what is known
On 4 January, at around 15:40, an air raid alert was declared in Sevastopol. Before that, the Russian occupiers blocked traffic on the Crimean bridge. For almost an hour, Russians complained of massive rocket fire, and explosions were heard in Sevastopol and Yevpatoriya.
Later, the Strategic Communications Directorate of the AFU reported that a Russian occupation troops' assembly point was hit near occupied Sevastopol.
The Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk said that the operation was carried out with the help of Ukrainian pilots.
