Ukrainian MP Bezuhla resigns from Servant of the People political party

Bezuhla

Ukrainian MP Mariana Bezuhla has announced her resignation from the Servant of the People political party and faction.

Bezuhla wrote letter of resignation from Servant of the People party

I do not need a weak party in times of war. I will continue to support the President's initiatives, but I do not want to have any joint obligations with the faction's members who are stabbing me in the back. I do not need your quota of deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence, she said.

I believe that without radical changes, the existence of the parliament will be a totalitarian painful extinction; the armed forces will turn into a conveyor belt for recycling citizens to maintain the status quo at the front; without a review of the national security and defence sector, establishing real control, corruption in the armed forces will come to the forefront, compared to everything that happened before, and the defence industry will not take on the mission of the country's economic and security engine. And these are just a few examples. The indifference and inertia of the National Security and Defence Council is criminal! — the politician said.

I wrote a letter of resignation from the Servant of the People faction and party. I support the President. I remain a majoritarian deputy of the Obolon district with all the obligations of openness and work with citizens, she concluded in her post on the social media.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine considered issue of recalling Bezuhla from the position

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Rules of Procedure supported the draft resolution on the recall of Mariana Bezuhla from the position of Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence.

MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a member of the Voice faction, posted this on Telegram and also published a photo of the conclusion of the Regulatory Committee.

According to him, "the decision was made unanimously. Accordingly, the Parliament may consider the resolution as early as 10 January".

According to Zhelezniak, the decision will be submitted to the parliamentary session hall, and Bezuhla will remain a member of the Defence Committee.
