One of the most famous Ukrainian developments in the military industry, the 2C22 "Bohdana" self-propelled howitzer (SPH), was sent to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an improved form — with an ammunition delivery system.

In a modernized form, Ukrainian self-propelled howitzer "Bohdana" is already working at the front.
This was reported by the "National Association of Defense Industry Enterprises of Ukraine" (NAUDI).
The Kramatorsk Plant of Heavy Machine Tool Construction and Ukrainian Armored Vehicles participate in producing "Bohdana" as a subcontractor.
SPH"Bohdana": what is known
2C22 "Bohdana" is a Ukrainian wheeled 155-mm self-propelled howitzer. The prototype is built on the KrAZ-63221 chassis. Development has been underway since at least 2018. It became the first Ukrainian self-propelled gun designed for the standard 155 mm calibre for NATO countries.
In 2022, the howitzer received its baptism of fire in the battle for the Snake Island,d occupied by the Russians at the time. In 2023, it was officially adopted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The calibre of 155 mm is the standard for field artillery of the divisional link in NATO, different from the calibre of 152 mm adopted in the USSR. Ideas regarding the possibility of Ukraine switching to the 155 mm artillery calibre, which is the standard for NATO member countries, were voiced by rocket forces and artillery commander Major General Vyacheslav Horbylev in 2017.
On January 26, 2023, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, announced that as early as spring 2022, serial production of the installations was financed.
In February 2023, the updated SPH project was demonstrated at the international exhibition IDEX-2023 in Abu Dhabi. It was announced that the customer could choose a 6×6 or 8×8 chassis, namely Tatra 815, KrAZ or MAN.
In June-July 2023, video confirmation of the actual use of the updated self-defense system was recorded, showing at least two new installations.
In August 2023, the CEO of "Ukrainian Armoured Vehicles", Vladyslav Belba, said that the self-propelled artillery is being mass-produced in two variants. It is probably about two chassis: MAZ-6317 and Tatra 815-7[34].
