On December 4, during an official visit to Brussels, the chief of MOD of Ukraine, Rustem Umierov, met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

Negotiations between Umierov and Stoltenberg: the details are already known

According to the Ukrainian minister, he expressed his sincere gratitude to the Secretary General of the Alliance for the leadership and coordination of actions of the member countries of the bloc with the aim of long-term support for our country.

Rustem Umierov also clarified that he and Jens Stoltenberg had time to discuss the current situation at the front and the urgent needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the winter.

The Ministry of Defense is working on ensuring the compatibility of the Armed Forces with NATO. Ukraine's accession to NATO is inevitable. Our country chose this path a long time ago, and now we are working on practical steps to get closer to NATO membership, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine chief emphasized.

What Stoltenberg says about new aid for Ukraine

Against this background, it is worth reminding that the Secretary General of the Alliance recently assured the official Kyiv that the partners will continue to provide Ukraine with significant military aid.

In addition, he urged Western leaders not to ignore the fact that Russia is also receiving weapons from its allies and is determined to fight for a long time.

Their military is in wartime mode, they are able to supply their forces with ammunition and new weapons, they have received a lot of shells from North Korea and they are willing to sacrifice their people. And this makes it difficult for Ukraine to make the territorial gains we all hope for. We must continue to support Ukraine. It is in our security interests that President Putin does not win this war, the NATO Secretary General stressed.
