According to the ISW team, disabling more than 20 Russian missiles with the help of EW active countermeasures can be considered a new turning point in the war. Experts assume that Ukrainian EW capabilities have reached a new level.

Ukraine was able to improve its EW complexes significantly

The Institute for the Study of War underlines that, in most cases, EW systems fought against Russian drones, not missile systems.

Moreover, it is emphasised that Russia's strike campaign against Ukraine and Ukraine's adaptation to countering new Russian strike systems are part of a broader tactical and technological "offence-defence" race between long-range aviation and air defence capabilities.

Disabling more than 20 missiles with the help of "active countermeasures by EW warfare" could be a turning point in Ukraine's EW capabilities.

According to the Air Force spokesman, Yuriy Ignat, the Russian missile attack on January 13 was similar to the attack that the enemy carried out on January 8 and previous occasions.

According to American analysts, Ignat's statement indicates that Ukrainian forces can recognise patterns in repeated Russian strikes and innovate and adapt to them.

Russian missile attack on Ukraine on January 13: what is known

On the night of January 13, the Russian army launched a missile attack on Ukraine, using cruise, aeroballistic, ballistic, aviation, and anti-aircraft-guided missiles and kamikaze drones.

According to the Ukraine's Air Force of Ukraine, a total of 40 units of enemy air attacks were recorded.

Our air defence forces destroyed 7 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles and one Kh-59 guided air missile.

It should be noted that more than 20 of all the mentioned air attack means, which were not included in the statistics, did not achieve their goals by EW active countermeasures! In addition, the "having-no-analogues" Russian missiles are getting worse and worse and fly whatever!
