The US representative at the UN, Robert Wood, said that Ukraine continues to seek a path to peace in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter, despite the fact that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not take the possibility of a peaceful settlement seriously.

Russia uses North Korean missiles to attack the territory of Ukraine

Russia has fired at Ukraine at least nine times with missiles received from North Korea. US Deputy Ambassador Robert Wood stated it during the UN Security Council meeting.

According to him, Russia and North Korea should be held accountable for their actions, undermining long-term commitments under Security Council resolutions.

These illegal arms shipments and the potential transfer of technology from Russia to North Korea undermine regional stability and the global non-proliferation regime, he said.

According to the US representative, Ukraine continues to seek a way to peace following the principles of the UN Charter, even though Russian President Vladimir Putin does not take the possibility of a peaceful settlement seriously.

Even as we sit here, Russia continues to flout international law by doubling down on its violations of the UN arms embargo on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Wood said.

He also noted that Russia is responsible for the death of people in Lysychansk on February 3, 2024. Wood said that all parties to the war must minimize civilian casualties. Ukraine has demonstrated its readiness to comply with its obligations under international humanitarian law.

The American diplomat also said that Russia only pretends to care about Ukrainian civilians in the occupied territories. Moscow started the war, and its aggression against Ukraine is a violation of the UN Charter and the territorial integrity of an independent country. The reason is Putin's desire to destroy Ukraine.

What is known about the new batch of Russian weapons from North Korea

Especially now it is necessary to demonstrate the complete reliability of Europe and the effectiveness of its decisions. Russia's aggression against Europe, which was launched by Moscow on the European front, was supplemented by another accomplice of Russia, namely, artillery shells and ballistic missiles from North Korea. They are already hitting our cities — in addition to the Iranian "Shaheds" who are destroying our civilian infrastructure. "Intelligence confirms that Russia will receive a million artillery shells from Pyongyang," the head of state notes.

The President expressed regret over the fact that the implementation of the EU countries' plan to provide Ukraine with one million artillery shells has been delayed for quite a long time.

And this is also a manifestation of global competition, in which Europe has no right to lose, — Zelensky emphasised.
