According to Fedor Venislavskyy, a parliamentary committee member on national security, defense and intelligence, the mechanism and terms of demobilization are currently being discussed.

What is known about the issue of demobilization in Ukraine

Venislavskyy noted that the issue of release into the reserve of military conscripts is also being discussed.

These are the most difficult issues that are discussed at the committee level. There were various proposals. After the completion of the term of military service under mobilization, a citizen will have the right to be released under demobilization. But I have repeatedly noted that when there is a full-scale invasion, there are practically no examples of complete demobilization in world history, MP said during the briefing.

According to him, the military, who have been at the front since the first days of the criminal invasion of the Russian army into Ukraine, should understand the precise terms of their further military service.

We are discussing this issue. It is proposed to provide for the possibility of demobilization during 36 months of service after mobilization. There are other suggestions. But we are still discussing this issue, Venislavskyy emphasized.

What is known about the release into the reserve military service

He also added that the committee is considering the issue of release to the reserve of military conscripts.

Thus, the current Ukrainian legislation, which regulates the issue of military service and the performance of military duty, does not provide for the release of conscripts to the reserve during the legal regime of martial law.

We partially settled this issue in the summer of last year, where we made it possible for a person to switch to contract service and already fully serve in the security and defense sector. As for the general release to the reserve, this issue is also under discussion. But at the moment, I cannot say that there is already a solution — global or general — to this issue, Venislavskyy explains.
