The dismissal of Mariana Bezuhla from the post of deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada Defence Committee was supported by its members. The issue is to be considered in the session hall.
Will Bezuhla lose her position in Verkhovna Rada Committee?
The Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence supported the removal of MP Mariana Bezuhla (Servant of the People political party) from the post of Deputy Chairman of the Committee.
This was reported by the secretary of the committee, Colonel Roman Kostenko of the Security Service of Ukraine (Golos political party) in a comment to Ukrinform.
He added that Bezuhla will remain a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence.
Mariana Bezuhla is a Member of Parliament of the ninth convocation, elected to the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People party. She is the Deputy Chair of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence, Chair of the Subcommittee on the Implementation of NATO Values and Standards.
Bezuhla reacted to statement of Verkhovna Rada Committee
Mariana Bezuha commented on her Facebook page on the information about her alleged dismissal from the post of Deputy Chairman of the Defence Committee of Verkhovna Rada.
So the work and struggle continues, the deputy summed up.
What is known about prospect of depriving Bezuhla of leadership position in Committee
It is noted that Bezuhla currently holds the position of Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence.
On 27 November 2023, Oleksiy Kucherenko, a member of the Batkivshchyna party, filed a petition to recall Bezuhla from this position.
Kucherenko noted that he had submitted an appeal to the Speaker of the Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, with a proposal to "immediately recall MP M. Bezuhlo from the post of Deputy Chairman of the Committee on National Security and Defence".
In his opinion, such statements are unacceptable, as they create tension in society and work to undermine the country's defence capabilities.
