Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) confirmed the destruction of two small amphibious assault motorboats of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
DIU disclosed the details of operation
The intelligence service made public the moment of hitting the enemy targets, the Serna class boats of the 11770 project.
According to the DIU, the ships were carrying a crew and loaded armoured vehicles, including BTR-82 armored personnel carrier.
It is noted that Russia actively used small Serna class landing boats during the occupation of Zmiinyi Island to transfer military equipment and amphibious assets.
In addition, the Russians deployed Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile systems on the boats to provide mobile cover for their group on the island and in the Black Sea.
By the way, the Serna class small amphibious assault ship has a high speed, can carry up to 45 tones of cargo and 92 armed paratroopers.
The occupiers use these boats to land advanced naval groups or evacuate them. And in the context of the Russians' de facto lack of naval air defence after a series of attacks by the Ukrainian security and defence forces, such boats with air defence systems on board served as cover for the occupiers' Black Sea Fleet ships during raids.
However, according to Ukrainian intelligence officers, this idea of the Russians has now been destroyed.
What is known about explosions in Crimea on November 10
On the night of November 10, explosions rang out in several populated areas of Crimea.
Local telegram channels reported that several hits were recorded in the village of Chornomorske. An attack on military barracks allegedly took place.
It was also loud in occupied Feodosiya. The social media suggested that the drones had hit an oil depot. At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defence said that Russian troops had shot down two drones over Crimea that night.
Later, it became known that two Project 11770 landing craft were hit near the village of Chornomorske, and losses among Russian personnel were being clarified.
