Recently, Ukrainian intelligence said that the Russian army has accumulated approximately 800 missiles, which can be used to attack Ukraine's energy infrastructure in winter and spring. The head of "Ukrenergo", Volodymyr Kudrytskyy, has already reassured Ukrainians that our energy system will withstand enemy attacks.
The winter of 2023-2024 will be difficult, but there is no reason to panic
What is essential to understand is that our energy infrastructure is covered by engineering protection for the first time in the world.
There are risks, 800 missiles (which the enemy has accumulated — ed.) is not a small resource for damaging something in our energy system. But there is definitely no need to panic, Volodymyr Kudrytskyy stressed.
He drew attention to the fact that Ukrainians need to start preparing for any difficulties that may arise against the background of new attacks by the Russian army.
But the energy system of Ukraine will withstand any attacks from the enemy and we will enter the spring with a working energy system. I think that we will all have light, too, the "Ukrenergo" chief noted.
According to him, our power system will survive the winter and not collapse, although local problems will still not be avoided.
Volodymyr Kudrytskyy also drew attention to the fact that, for the future, the best protection for the Ukrainian generation is its dispersion.
Zelenskyy promises Ukrainians to strengthen air defence
It should also be noted that on November 18, the head of state, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, announced new decisions to enhance Ukraine's air defense ahead of winter.
He also noted the countries that announced new aid to our state this week.
Germany, Finland, Lithuania — thanks for the new defense packages. Estonia will increase security investments in ammunition production in the coming years. And this is important. Norway and Britain — there are decisions on new humanitarian packages for Ukraine and Ukrainians. Thank you. And we are already preparing new steps — safe steps — in the coming weeks. In particular, this concerns the strengthening of air defense, — the Ukrainian leader said.
