The authorities of Ukraine promised a quick and successful liberation of Crimea as early as the spring of 2023. Mykhailo Podolyak, the adviser to the head of the OPU, answered why Volodymyr Zelenskyy's team's forecasts have not yet been implemented.

Podolyak explained why it was not possible to quickly de-occupy Crimea

According to Yermak’s adviser, being as frank as possible is extremely important when answering this question.

When we talk about the terms of release, today some may say: "You said that we will enter the Crimea in the summer of 2023." But on the basis of what was said about it? Based on mathematical analysis how many and what kind of weapons are needed; how many and when these weapons will arrive; how much, when and how will sanctions against Russia work; how much and how Russia will spend money, Mykhailo Podolyak explained.

International players also affect the duration of the war

The representative of Volodymyr Zelenskyy's team draws attention to the fact that even the fact that the aggressor country manages to circumvent Western sanctions and earn billions for waging war against Ukraine affects the development of the situation.

For example, in 2023, Russia will spend about 10.2 trillion rubles on the war, and already in 2024 is going to spend more than 14.6 trillion rubles. Therefore, it is necessary to make Russia have much less resources. If we have agreed on certain tools for conducting hostilities, then these tools should be available to us in 7-10 days, as needed for logistics, and by no means in 90-120 days, Mykhailo Podolyak notes.

According to Yermak's adviser, if the international partners of official Kyiv will delay the supply of the necessary weapons for a long time, the Kremlin will have time to find out what and in what quantity Ukraine will receive.

Then the Russian invaders will begin to prepare for strategic defense — to dig in. And this means that it will be even more difficult to knock them out.
