WP: The US faces dire consequences due to its refusal of further aid to Ukraine

If Washington does not agree to finance further military aid to Ukraine, the criminal army of the Russian Federation will continue to kill Ukrainian civilians, destroy cities and later spread armed aggression to other countries.

What is known about the consequences for the United States in the event of a Russian victory in Ukraine

Journalists of the publication note that the last two years, after the beginning of the large-scale war unleashed by the Kremlin in Ukraine, demonstrated the exceptional desire of Russian war criminals to kill, torture and abuse Ukrainians without limits.

In case of termination of military aid to Ukraine by the USA, Washington, as the authors of the material note, will expect dire consequences of the victory of the occupying Russian army in Ukraine, which will be felt for at least several generations.

According to the representative of the volunteer organization Spirit America, Jim Hake, who saw the crimes of the Russian army in Ukraine with his own eyes during his visit to the positions of the Ukrainian military in Donetsk in 2015, a year after the start of the hybrid war unleashed by the Kremlin in Donbas, he spoke with the commander of the Ukrainian army Oleksandr Grozdkov, who discovered the bodies of more than 600 Ukrainian soldiers killed by the criminals of the Russian military.

In 2016, Hake also visited one of the forward positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donbas (in the area of the Chermalyk village) and once again saw with his own eyes that the Russians were destroying Ukrainians. Then, enemy artillery killed two AFU soldiers.

The publication notes that more than 14,000 people died as a result of hostilities in Donbas between 2014 and 2021.

Hayek notes that this happened against the background of the Kremlin's public promises to abide by the cease-fire agreements.

However, according to him, the Russian side has never adhered to such agreements.

After the start of the full-scale invasion, Hake visited Bucha and learned other horrors. One of the Ukrainians showed a painful video of a kitchen destroyed by Russian shelling.

His children played there and lived a "peaceful life" until Russia became an uninvited guest in Buch.

I spent the day with a Ukrainian medic, who asked us not to provide ambulances with red crosses, because these marks will make them even more of a target, the volunteer says.

The volunteer communicated with young Ukrainians and schoolchildren whose villages survived the occupation of the Russian Federation. The Russians used their educational institution to conduct interrogations.

Students told me how snipers targeted them as they left their homes. Young and old, military and civilian, Ukrainians know that Putin will not stop until he is defeated, Hake emphasized.

According to the volunteer, Spirit America has considerable experience fighting and helping countries that defend democracy. "We see Russia's fingerprints in the worst events happening in the world," he said, referring to Iraq and Syria.

Currently, Russia is almost "everywhere": it supports Hamas in its actions against Israel and influences China's determination regarding Taiwan because the PRC is paying attention to Putin's "successes" in Ukraine.

Some Americans understand the level of threat and the role of Ukraine. The Spirit America team received more than $66 million in donations to help Ukrainian fighters.

However, now Ukraine needs Washington to put more pressure on the American public to clarify why Kyiv needs to be helped.

What is known about the impact of problems with US military aid to Ukraine on the situation at the front

According to Bloomberg journalists, due to the weakening of military support from Western partners, it is becoming increasingly difficult for the Ukrainian military to succeed at the front.

The administration of President Joe Biden and the European Union are trying to provide aid for Ukraine's military and budget, and even some of the country's staunchest supporters express doubts about its prospects on the battlefield and call for negotiations to end the war, the authors of the publication note.

They emphasize that disappointment with the results of the military operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is wrong because it ignores the great sacrifices of Ukrainians for the sake of preserving their dom and sovereignty and also denies the ability of the Ukrainian military to regain superiority if there is a sufficient number of weapons.

Abandoning military efforts now will undermine trust in the West and ultimately endanger democracies that support the defense of Ukraine, as well as Ukraine itself, the authors of the material warn.

According to them, this year, the Ukrainian military failed to advance, as expected, within the framework of the counteroffensive, while the readiness of the criminal army of the Russian Federation to suffer losses and the defence capability, in general, turned out to be unexpected for Western military analysts and officials.

At the same time, journalists of the publication called the pace and volume of military aid to Ukraine from Western partners this year too slow and insufficient.

Putin has shown no interest in negotiations or any history of honoring the agreements he has reached. He has every reason to wait until the resolve of the US and Europe collapses so that he can achieve his goal of conquering Ukraine. In this war of attrition, the West must adapt its response to ensure more sustainable support in the long term, the authors of the material emphasize.

According to the authors, in the coming months, the allies should provide Kyiv with new ammunition, long-range missiles, air defence systems, drones and fighter jets because "without a constant flow of Western weapons, Ukraine will not be able to hold the territory it controls, let alone to grab more."

At the same time, Ukraine needs to restore budgetary support.

It is impossible to predict when and how the war will end. But defeat would entail heavy strategic costs, damage global food and energy security, and inspire Putin to go further. No matter how daunting the challenges that Ukraine and its partners will face in the coming year, failure is not an option, the publication says.
