On December 12, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Ukrainian Ground Forces. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, thanked every soldier who defends the country as part of these troops.

Zaluzhnyi noted that for the second year in a row, Ukraine celebrates this day in the conditions of the Great War, protecting the country from the Russian enemy's invasion.

You are the reliable basis of the Ukrainian army. A strong shield and a sharp spear that mercilessly destroys the enemy! You know the price of every piece of Ukrainian land. Your indomitable will and courage are the pride of our state!

He thanked every soldier who defends the country as part of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, protecting the native home and the future of our children.

With you is the memory and glory of our fallen brothers. Loyalty to the country, duty and oath are with you! Glory to Ukraine!

The President noted that the Ukrainian Ground Forces in Ukraine number almost 600,000 soldiers of various branches of the military.

Many have been awarded state awards. Many will always be remembered by their comrades for their strength and help in battle. Our people are grateful to many for the liberation of our land, cities and villages, for the opportunity to be proud of the power of the Ukrainian army. Today we remember many when we honor Ukrainian heroes who gave their lives for the sake of our country and people.

He thanked every soldier, sergeant and commander for the power given to our state.
