The occupied Russian nuclear power plant remained on one power supply line due to de-energization of the 330 kV high-voltage power transmission line in the Zaporizhzhia region as a result of hostilities.
Zaporizhzhia NPP uses only one power line due to the Russian shellings
According to the Ministry of Energy, there is currently no shortage in the Ukrainian energy system, and its generation is sufficient to cover the needs of consumers.
At the same time, the 330-kilowatt high-voltage transmission line in Zaporozhzhia was de-energised due to hostilities the day before.
At the same time, according to the Ministry of Energy, the cooling pond maintains a stable water level of 15.59 meters, which is enough to meet the station's needs.
In addition, due to damage to the wind line in the Chernihiv region, about 200 consumers in two settlements were left without electricity.
According to the forecasts of the Ministry of Energy, during this day, Ukraine can import 1400 megawatts per hour and export 3000 MW*h.
What is the situation at Zaporizhzhia NPP?
At the beginning of March 2022, Russian troops occupied Energodar and the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
As of September 2023, according to the Energoatom's president, Petro Kotin, 822 Ukrainian nuclear workers remained working at the plant.
Russian occupiers repeatedly kidnapped Ukrainian workers and tortured them. The Russians also placed mines around the perimeter of the station.
Five out of six reactors of the ZNPP are in "cold shutdown" mode. Power Unit No. 4 is in "hot shutdown" mode to produce energy for the occupied city of Energodar.
