Zelenskyy warned officials about strengthening of control over the actions of local authorities

Office of the President of Ukraine
Volodymyr Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned local government officials in Ukraine of strengthening of control over their actions in wartime conditions.

Zelenskyy promises to strengthen control over the activities of local authorities

The President called on officials on the ground to work more fruitfully for the sake of Ukraine's victory in the criminal war unleashed by the Russian Federation.

Zelenskyy promised to pay maximum attention to the situation on the ground in various districts, regions and communities.

And if someone in some position, whether in the civil service or in local self-government bodies, believes that the war is somewhere over there, and he can deal with another priority issue, this is a big mistake that needs to be corrected and that we will correct. I believe that we should all be adults and understand what we are doing on the ground and that there are no separate communities, the head of state warned.

Zelenskyy promised to pay attention to the regions

He noted that the issues of war and European integration did not let him pay attention to the region's situation for a long time.

Therefore, I will apply, but I ask you not to give me the opportunity to waste time on such activities. All the same, I want everything to be done for our victory... I am asking you very much not to distract us from the war, this is a big request, not to everyone, but there are just such people. The main task is the defense of our state. If someone doesn't know what's happening at the front and has forgotten who our neighbor is, I want to remind you that defense comes first, people won't forget it. Therefore, protection is everyone's duty, the president emphasized.
