On December 5, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to address senators at a closed briefing through a secure video conference.

Zelenskyy will personally address the US Senate

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer officially confirmed this information to journalists.

The President of Ukraine intends to brief senators on the situation on the battlefield and the importance of another military aid package a day before a scheduled vote in the Senate on the transition to a legislative mechanism for the provision of emergency foreign aid for $106 billion, which includes more than $61 billion for Ukraine.

According to journalists, the idea of the Ukrainian leader's speech before the senators came from the team of the head of the White House, Joe Biden, which is most interested in Kyiv receiving these funds.

The administration has invited President Zelenskyy to appear before senators... as part of our closed briefing tomorrow so we can hear directly from him exactly what is at stake in this vote. I ask all senators to attend this important briefing, Chuck Schumer urged his colleagues.

Why did the Congress have problems regarding the allocation of aid to Ukraine

As mentioned earlier, Republicans in Congress have threatened Democrats to block the allocation of aid to Ukraine if there is no solution to the security of American borders.

According to experts, the US leader's request for more than $61 billion for Kyiv now hinges on a complex and delicate battle over border security policy.

Media insiders claimed that recent discussions on the issue have been positive.
