President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Western partners to reject doubts and provide Ukraine with long-range weapons.
Why partners should help Ukraine with long-range weapons
During a press conference with Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Zelenskyy noted that drones and long-range weapons could be an alternative to artillery systems.
As for the alternative, [I think that] drones are the only alternative to artillery, the head of state said.
According to him, there are other alternatives, but they are with partners and involve long-range weapons.
We understand that it exists. But there can be no shortage of courage. If we have decided on the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the protection of our people, then we should not hesitate to take steps forward, — said the head of state.
Zelenskyy regarding receiving ammunition from the EU
The head of state noted that there is currently progress in receiving 800,000 artillery ammunition from the EU within the framework of the Czech Republic's initiative.
At the same time, Zelenskyy emphasized that the results of this initiative will be possible to evaluate when the Ukrainian military receives this ammunition.
There is positive progress, but we will be able to assess the positive result only when these projectiles are in Ukraine, — Zelenskyy noted.
At the same time, the head of state noted that this year, Ukrainians need to be even stronger than in the first year of the criminal war unleashed by Russia.
As the president noted, if Ukraine does not defend itself against Russian aggression, it will not survive, and the war will only spread further.
We are dealing with an inadequate person who will be in the Kremlin until death. Therefore, it seems to me, the question here is not about skepticism, but about a threat. A threat from the Russian Federation to all of Europe. It is necessary not to get tired, but to be stronger than it was in the first year. And those who are very tired should come to this cathedral and pray for the fact that there is no war in their states, pray for Ukraine, — Zelenskyy emphasised.
What is known about the preparation of Ukraine and Greece for the signing of a security agreement
Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine and Greece have begun preparations to sign an agreement on security guarantees.
I am pleased to say that Greece and I have begun the preparation of a bilateral agreement on security guarantees and our cooperation. I hope that soon our teams will prepare an agreement for signing. We should record in it the achieved level of cooperation for this year and for the following years, — said the head of state.
