The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that any initiatives of the leaders of certain states, which are aimed at strengthening Ukraine in repelling Russian aggression, are good for the whole world.
Zelenskyy commented on Macron's initiative to send Western troops to Ukraine
Zelenskyy's statement was made at a press conference following the "Ukraine — Southeast Europe" summit in Albania.
Zelenskyy noted that he was not personally present at the summit supporting Ukraine in Paris. Still, Macron told him the day before that he would discuss specific new ideas for strengthening Ukraine.
Meeting in Paris regarding support for Ukraine
On February 26, Macron gathered more than 20 heads of state and government of European countries in Paris to demonstrate unity to help Ukraine.
According to him, no consensus was reached at the meeting regarding the introduction of troops into Ukraine, but this topic cannot be ruled out.
The French president noted that European officials agreed that they should be prepared for a possible attack by Russia in the coming years.
After the meeting, the Netherlands announced it would allocate 100 million euros ($108.47 million) to the Czech Republic's initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine.
