The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, does not see the need to mobilize half a million people into the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Zelenskyy commented on the mobilization of 500,000 people
In an interview with the British channel Channel 4 News, Zelensky said that he does not yet see the need to mobilize half a million people.
Another factor is financial support. Zelenskyy explained that money for mobilization and military support does not come from partners, but is allocated from the budget.
The General Staff asked to mobilize 500,000 people
Last year during the final press conference, Zelensky said that the General Staff and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny proposed to mobilize up to 400-500 thousand people.
According to the president, this will cost an additional 500 billion hryvnias.
Later, Zaluzhny noted that the command did not ask for specific numbers of mobilization.
