Zelenskyy: North Korea plans a new batch of 1 million artillery shells for Russia

Office of the President of Ukraine
Volodymyr Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, referring to Ukrainian intelligence representatives, confirmed that North Korea is preparing to hand over another million artillery shells to the Russian Federation.

What is known about the new batch of Russian weapons from North Korea

Especially now it is necessary to demonstrate the full reliability of Europe and the effectiveness of its decisions. Russia's aggression against Europe, which was launched by Moscow on the European front, was supplemented by another accomplice of Russia, namely, artillery shells and ballistic missiles from North Korea. They are already hitting our cities — in addition to the Iranian "Shaheeds" who are destroying our civilian infrastructure. "Intelligence confirms that Russia will receive a million artillery shells from Pyongyang," the head of state notes.

The President expressed regret over the fact that the implementation of the EU countries' plan to provide Ukraine with one million artillery shells has been delayed for quite a long time.

And this is also a manifestation of global competition, in which Europe has no right to lose, — Zelenskyy emphasised.

What the EU and Ukraine can oppose cooperation between Russia and North Korea

He noted that the European partners of Ukraine should demonstrate unity regarding the creation of the Ukraine Assistance Fund within the framework of the European Peace Fund.

This is the kind of reliability and longevity of support that now needs to be challenged. At least 5 billion euros per year, term — 4 years. A clear priority, — explains Zelenskyy.

The President also added that in January of this year, an agreement was reached in Switzerland to organize the Global Peace Summit.

Work on the organization has already begun. And I invite all of you to actively participate in the preparation of the summit. Europe must have its say, and Europe's word must always be weighty, reliable and implemented in concrete decisions, the head of state stated.

The head of state also noted that Europe is now sending a signal across the Atlantic and worldwide that the international world order, based on rules, will withstand all challenges.

Europe sets the tone in global processes with its unity. Now this is a fact. And it should remain so, — emphasised Zelenskyy.
