What is known about the conversation between Zelenskyy and Orban

The meeting of politicians took place during the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected president of Argentina, Javier Milei, who has a clear pro-Ukrainian position.

As Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted, their conversation with Viktor Orban was "as frank as possible."

On the sidelines of the inauguration, he spoke with Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán as frankly as possible. And it is clear that it is about our European affairs, the head of state wrote, but did not reveal any details of these unofficial negotiations.

Despite this, the Office of the President of Ukraine published an eloquent photo in which Volodymyr Zelenskyy "cornered" the Hungarian Prime Minister and emotionally explained something to him.

What is known about the relationship between Zelenskyy and Orban

After Volodymyr Zelenskyy became the president of Ukraine in 2019, the two leaders had only brief meetings.

The head of state offered Putin's henchmen to hold full-fledged negotiations finally, but they never took place. However, the Ukrainian authorities wanted to open a new page in the relations between Kyiv and Budapest.

After February 24, 2022, the relationship between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Viktor Orban finally deteriorated because the latter constantly repeated that he did not believe in Ukraine's victory and publicly supported the Russian dictator Volodymyr Putin.

The current meeting took place against the background of Orban's intentions not to support the decision of the EU summit on December 14-15 in Brussels regarding the start of negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union and further financial and military support for Kyiv.
