President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the size of the Ukrainian army, calling it "a million-strong". According to him, it is about 880 thousand.

At the same time, the head of state clarified that today, it is not known precisely how many people have left since the beginning of the full-scale war, calling the number in the range of 6.5 to 7.5 million.
That is why we are talking about all people who are in Ukraine. And they all protect Europe and the world. Absolutely. At their workplaces, Zelenskyy added.
The size of the army in Ukraine
The former Minister of Defense, Oleksiy Reznikov, stated that the activities of the security and defence sector are provided by about one million people in various structures. As he said, in the summer of 2022, 700,000 people will be mobilised into the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the same time, in December 2023, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the number of Ukraine's Ground Forces. According to him, almost 600,000 soldiers of various branches of the army are fighting in the Ground Forces.
