President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his conviction that the strong support of Ukraine from the USA will not disappear anywhere.

Zelenskyy highly appreciates the chances of maintaining aid from US

I expect that the United States of America will not fall away. I believe that the majority of the population supports Ukraine and absolutely rightly, understanding that we protect not only Ukraine, but also the whole of Europe and our common values. At least, I constantly receive such signals from the president and his administration, and representatives of the two parties, — the President said during a joint conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

Zelenskyy admitted that there is currently no consensus among American politicians. In particular, radical and unrestrained politicians are trying to realise their political ideas.

Therefore, I expect that, despite all the difficulties that there are today in the House of Representatives or the Congress and in general in the politics of the United States because of the elections, I believe that there will be found in all this a pragmatic, familiar, American approach to what that we protect the security of the world. Today, this war and this defence are on the territory of Ukraine. And we pay the highest price.

Zelenskyy noted that he is counting on words of support and joint actions with Western partners.

In particular, he thanked German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for discussing the issue of supporting Ukraine during a meeting with US President Joe Biden during his visit to Washington.

There are always risks, because there are always risks due to various pressures and due to the electoral process. We count on more than one Germany. And we really count on the European Union. It is very important. Because it's not just money or some kind of weapon. This union is political. If it exists, then sanctions are imposed against the Russian miltary and defence complex. We are also counting on other sanctions packages. And that is why there are many steps that depend on the powerful union of European countries. And not only the EU, said Zelenskyy.

Scholz advised Putin not to dream of a quick victory in Ukraine

The Chancellor of Germany noted that the agreement on cooperation with Ukraine in the security field indicates Berlin's intentions to maintain strong support for Ukraine.

I must state clearly, of course, we all want this war to end as soon as possible. Just like everyone in Ukraine. But unfortunately, we see that Russia is not ready for a long and just peace. On the contrary, it continues to pursue its goals, as Putin demonstrated to us again recently, — emphasised Scholz.

He emphasised that two years after Russia launched a criminal war against Ukraine, he is sending a clear signal to Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin.

We will not reduce our support for Ukraine. "We will continue to stand by Ukrainian men and women," said Scholz.

Scholz emphasised that the agreement on military cooperation between Ukraine and Germany is difficult to overestimate.

The Chancellor of Germany added that Germany's support for Ukraine will continue as long as necessary.

We will support Ukrainian partners in building a modern defense-capable Armed Forces in order to prevent any future Russian aggression. If Russia thinks about it in the future, then we have detailed agreements, diplomatic, economic and military, on how we will help Ukraine, — assured Scholz.

He also noted that Germany became the second country after Great Britain to sign an agreement with Ukraine on security cooperation. Other countries, including France, will follow Germany.

In addition, this agreement covers assisting in the civilian sphere, including demining, providing energy infrastructure in Ukraine, and the reconstruction process.

It also reflects the values that Germany and Ukraine share. The document is based on democracy and the rule of law, the Chancellor of Germany emphasised.
