Zelenskyy shares his thoughts on the new mobilization law

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that mobilization is a matter of justice, because there are people who have been protecting our state from day one and they need to be replaced.

Zelenskyy justified the importance of mobilization

As Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated, mobilization in Ukraine is primarily a matter of justice. It is unfair to bypass those who need rest.

The question of mobilization is, first of all, an understanding of what it is for different sectors of society. This is a question of justice, because there are people who have been at war since the first day, and the fact that they do not complain does not mean that there is no opportunity for people to replace them, to give them a break, — said the president.

He added that the military deserves to be replaced at the front. If there are not enough people, then, in Zelensky's opinion, it is necessary to give the military a tool to do this. It is about the mobilization and training of new recruits.

Therefore, a reasonable and fair mobilization law is needed. That is, it is necessary for the military. It cannot be said that they have enough army. It is unfair and unfair... It is unfair to avoid when someone dies for you, and it is fair that a person should know where he is going, for how much, how well he will be prepared, — emphasized the head of state.

Zelensky also commented on media reports about alleged war fatigue.

When we say fatigue, we must separate these things. We cannot afford war fatigue. Otherwise, it will happen that someone is protecting the state. I'm not only talking about the front, it's also people who work, who have businesses, who pay taxes. You can get tired of doing it under the missiles, but people continue... If we get tired, we will lose what we have, the president said.

He noted that it is important not only to defend the state at the front, adding that doctors, teachers, and energy workers are also important for defense.

You can afford to be tired in the evening, but in the morning you will have to defend the state, fight for it, if we want to preserve it, — Zelensky emphasized.

The bill on mobilization

At the end of December, the Cabinet of Ministers submitted to the parliament a draft law on mobilization, which proposes to partially change the procedure for its implementation. The document was considered by the Committee on National Security together with the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

Earlier, the parliament announced that it will consider the draft law in the first reading on January 11. But then it became known that the document was returned to the government for revision, it was officially withdrawn from the parliament.

The Speaker of the parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, said that the decision to return the draft law to the Cabinet of Ministers was made together with representatives of the parliament, the government and the military leadership of the country.
