If you are of mobilisation age, according to Ukrainian law, you must be in Ukraine. This is a fact. And then you will fight or not fight. You will work, emphasised the president.
He noted that the taxes from 6 to 8 people go to pay the salary of one soldier.
The President emphasised that financial assistance from Western partners is not designed for such expenses.
You can work and not be at the front, it depends on the situation. But you have to pay taxes. It is generally fair to pay tax. But during the war, this issue is very acute. This issue is justice, - the head of state noted.
Zelenskyi admitted that Ukraine will always lack people to defend itself in the criminal war unleashed by Russia.
We are fighting against the Russian Federation, which does not consider people. And she can mobilize her people because it mobilises corpses. You see, they know they're mobilising corpses. They mobilize meat. They don't care if this person comes back or not. And we don't care, — Zelenskyy explains.
He also noted that the issue is not that Ukraine is four times smaller than the Russian Federation in population.
The President emphasised that Ukraine would never send the people on tanks even if the population were the same as in the Russian Federation.
We fight for people's rights. What's the point of fighting for human rights if you don't respect those rights? It's just silly, delusional. And that's why it will always not be enough against this state, which keeps people as slaves and throws them on tanks,— Zelenskyy emphasised.
Zelenskyy about the probable presidency of Trump in the USA
According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US support for Ukraine will continue even in the case of the presidency of Donald Trump, who advocates ending aid.
And Ukraine will work in partnership with the president elected by the United States of America. Undoubtedly, some voices, radical voices from the republican part are heard and they strain Ukrainian society. Sometimes we are surprised, and sometimes society is just afraid. Some risky slogans are part of the politics of the US elections, I understand that, — notes the Ukrainian leader.
He also noted that similar pre-election theses affect Ukrainians' perception of the United States.
It hurts so much during war. You know, everything is more painful. And every word it hurts, and sometimes it kills. Because you perceive everything as during the war... That's why some radical voices are stressful, they scare society. And that's why I would really like it to be just the opinion of individual voices, and not of a significant part of the republicans, — emphasised the head of state.
According to him, during his visit to the USA in September of last year and meetings with American members of Congress, he did not hear statements from anyone about the termination or reduction of support.
And when the election process is underway, unfortunately, I hear such voices. And so we are ready to work with everybody, but I want to tell you frankly that we respect the American people. And I think that one person cannot change the entire nation, — noted Zelenskyy.
At the same time, Zelenskyy reacted to Trump's statement regarding the possibility of a quick end to the war unleashed by the Russian Federation against Ukraine in the event of his re-election as President, advising him to think first before speaking.
At the same time, Trump also promised to supply Ukraine with more weapons by his presidency if the Kremlin continues its criminal aggression or takes away the already provided weapons in the event of continued hostilities on the part of Ukraine.
Zelenskyy also raised the question of what he will do if Ukraine rejects Trump's proposal and stops military support from the United States when Kremlin dictator and war criminal Vladimir Putin directs aggression against NATO member states.
That is, he decided that if the conflict is not frozen, if Putin is allowed to enter Ukraine completely, then he will stop. This will not happen. Putin will not stop, the president warned.
Thus, according to Zelenskyy, if Ukraine loses, Europe will lose the continent's largest and most powerful army.
And so, I will say this, my father always told me: "First think, then speak," the head of state emphasised.
Zelenskyy on North Korea's supply of missiles to the Russian Federation
The head of state called the delivery of missiles from North Korea to Russia for their use in the criminal war against Ukraine a crossing of red lines.
Zelenskyy emphasised that the aggressor country has already received 1 million artillery ammunition from North Korea.
But that was the first step. It's about war. Artillery is about war on the battlefield. But there is a second step. These are already "red lines". Because they are rockets. We had a North Korean missile that hit civilians. And civilians died. It was not on the battlefield, not at the front. It was directed against civilians, Zelensky emphasised.
