Using Humvee, MaxxPro and M113 analogues on the battlefield against the Russian army, the fighters of the Defence Forces of Ukraine prevented the enemy sabotage groups from entering the rear of the Ukrainian unit.

AFU use self-made analogues of US APV machinery

In possession of the Defense Express publication, a video of a battle of one of the special units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, in which our military personnel use home-made analogues of the American armoured vehicle HMMWV (Humvee) and MaxxPro and M113 armoured personnel carriers under the names "Characteristic", "Sikach" and "Lys", respectively.

The battle took place against an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group.

According to the source who provided the video, the event took place in the middle of February in the direction of Zaporizhzhia.

The enemy intended to enter the rear of our troops, but was detected in time by a reconnaissance drone. A Ukrainian unit, reinforced with armored vehicles, came forward to intercept the group.

As the source notes, our defenders managed to push the enemy into the occupied territories without losses. It is not reported whether there were losses in the Russian army during this battle.

AFU units need armored vehicles

Due to the shortage of armoured vehicles, some units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine use analogues of various American cars on the battlefield - it is about artisanal production of equipment at the rate of five vehicles per month.

This is the "Kharakternyk" armoured vehicle, an analogue of the legendary HMMWV or Humvee armoured vehicle, and "Sikach", which visually resembles the MaxxPro wheeled armoured personnel vehicle.

Recently, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) said that during the defensive operation in the Avdiiv region, "reconnaissance officers used, in particular, Ukrainian-made combat armoured vehicles "Sikach" and "Kharakternyk", which "proved themselves excellently in combat conditions."
