On Feb 26, Ukrainian units withdrew from the village of Lastochkyne in the Donetsk region. The day before, AFU units occupied positions on the western outskirts of the settlement.

The OSTG "Tavria" spokesman, Capt. Dmytro Lykhovii, stated this information on the telethon air.

Units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine exited the village of Lastochkine to organise a defence along the lines of the settlements of Orlivka, Tonenke, and Berdychi and prevent the enemy from advancing further in the western direction.

The day before, OSTG "Tavria" representatives reported that the Russians had not occupied Lastochkyne, and fighting was ongoing on the outskirts of the village.

Fierce battles are ongoing, the enemy is constantly using guided air bombs and artillery, Lykhovii reported.

On February 24, several sources, in particular the DeepState channel, informed about the capture of Lastochkyne by the Russian occupiers of the Ocheretyne community of the Pokrovsky district in the Donetsk region. Before the war, this village had a population of 617 people.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine left Avdiivka

On February 17, the Defence Forces of Ukraine completed the withdrawal of units from Avdiivka in the Donetsk region.

The operational-strategic task group (OSTG) "Tavria" commander, Brig. Gen. Oleksandr Tarnavskyi reported that Ukrainian soldiers are taking positions on the second line of defence.

The exit of personnel from Avdiivka took place in accordance with the plan developed taking into account various scenarios and a possible change in the operational situation. Nevertheless, at the final stage of the operation, under the pressure of the prevailing enemy forces, a number of Ukrainian servicemen were captured.
