According to the well-known historian and political commentator Timothy Garton Ash, it is the European countries that can help the Armed Forces to dramatically change the situation on the battlefield already next year.

Ukraine will win the war if the EU increases its aid

The expert draws attention to the fact that Europe should immediately increase the supply of arms, ammunition and weapons to Ukraine and expand training for the Ukrainian army.

According to Timothy Garton Ash, if official Brussels listens to his calls, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to stop the Russian army's advance and finally turn the tide of the war in 2025.

This should be the goal of Europe, even if the ex-president of the USA, one of the leading contenders for the position of the new head of the White House, Donald Trump, manages to suspend Washington's support for Ukraine and conclude an agreement with the dictator of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.

Europe should prepare for war with Russia

According to the historian, EU members should also not forget about strengthening their own defense capabilities.

Timothy Garton Ash points out that Trump's second presidency is being carefully prepared with detailed plans drawn up by friendly think tanks.

Europe is still dependent on the US for its defense — more so: Europe is dependent on NATO for its defense, and NATO is dependent on confidence in the Article 5 guarantees from the US. As you know, it obliges NATO to use its armed forces if an Alliance ally is attacked.

According to the historian, European countries should consider all possible scenarios of the development of events since the probability that Trump will leave the EU alone with the Russian Federation is exceptionally high.
