Budanov: Russia failed the most expensive PSYOP against Ukraine "Maidan-3"

The head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, said that Russia was unable to implement the planned "Maidan-3" information and psychological operation against Ukraine, the most expensive in its history.

What is known about the operation "Maidan-3"

Kyrylo Budanov reported this on the sidelines of the forum "Ukraine. The year 2024."

They did not find anything better than to call this operation "Maidan-3" — it was officially called that in their documents. This is the most expensive operation for them and it has already practically failed.

According to Budanov, as part of this operation, the Russians planned the following: to create a situation in which the legitimacy of decision-making in Ukraine after May 20 of this year would be questioned.

They were counting on a certain confusion in Ukrainian society in connection with this, which would be projected onto our army. After that, having sown double thoughts in our army, in the first half of June they planned to inflict a military defeat in the east, taking advantage of the previously shaken situation in the army.

Budanov noted that the Russians will not be able to inflict a military defeat on Ukraine, and this special operation has already failed.

How much money did the Russian Federation spend on "Maidan-3"

Online.ua wrote about the new Russian PSYOP on November 13 in an exclusive article "Panic, despair, exasperation, assassination attempts. Russia has launched a new "Maidan-3" information attack on Ukraine."

A total of $1.5 billion was spent on the "Maidan 3" operation, in particular, $250 million was spent on Telegram.

"Maidan 3" became the most expensive Russian informational special operation against Ukraine since 2014 and the Revolution of Dignity, on which the Russians spent tens of millions of dollars to discredit. The total budget of the operation reached 1.5 billion dollars, and 250 million dollars were spent on Telegram for its management, — said the representative of the DIU, Andriy Chernyak.

The timing of the information attack by the Russian special services on Ukraine was November-December 2023.

Russia planned to stir up an imaginary "conflict" between various branches of government and specific government figures and a series of assassination attempts on a number of officials.
