According to Ants Kiviselg, commander of the Estonian Defence Forces intelligence centre, the Russian Federation's criminal army retains the initiative in the war against Ukraine and increases the pace of its offensive.
What Estonian intelligence says about the situation in Ukraine
Kiviselg emphasised that after a certain decrease, a new increase in the rate of attack of the criminal army of the Russian Federation is currently being recorded.
However, at the same time, he said that despite the intensification of the offensive, the operational and strategic goals of the Russian occupying army of the Russian Federation in Ukraine remain unfulfilled.
According to the Estonian military intelligence chief, the criminal army of the Russian Federation is conducting key offensive efforts on the Kupiansk-Kreminna-Svatove line.
Kiviselg emphasised that the likely goal of Russian war criminals in the Kupyansk district of Kharkiv region is to establish control over the area near the Oskil River and the Zherebets River near Lyman.
According to him, the Russian invaders managed to advance towards Kupiansk and Lyman.
He says the most active fighting is in the Donetsk region's Avdiivka and Bakhmut districts.
He added that in the area of Avdiivka, the Ukrainian military created two lines of defence to stop the further offensive of the Russian invaders.
In addition, the criminal army of the Russian Federation achieved minor successes in the Donetsk region.
In the south of Ukraine, according to Kiviselg, in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, the enemy is not as active as in the east.
On the left bank of the Dnipro River, the Ukrainian armed forces still hold the footholds created there and repel Russian attacks.
