According to Ants Kiviselg, commander of the Estonian Defence Forces intelligence centre, the Russian Federation's criminal army retains the initiative in the war against Ukraine and increases the pace of its offensive.

What Estonian intelligence says about the situation in Ukraine

Kiviselg emphasised that after a certain decrease, a new increase in the rate of attack of the criminal army of the Russian Federation is currently being recorded.

However, at the same time, he said that despite the intensification of the offensive, the operational and strategic goals of the Russian occupying army of the Russian Federation in Ukraine remain unfulfilled.

According to the Estonian military intelligence chief, the criminal army of the Russian Federation is conducting key offensive efforts on the Kupiansk-Kreminna-Svatove line.

Kiviselg emphasised that the likely goal of Russian war criminals in the Kupyansk district of Kharkiv region is to establish control over the area near the Oskil River and the Zherebets River near Lyman.

According to him, the Russian invaders managed to advance towards Kupiansk and Lyman.

Although the Russian Armed Forces retain the initiative on the entire front line, the advance of the Russian Federation in the direction of Lyman during the week was quite insignificant, and Russia did not reach the above-mentioned river boundaries, — notes the Estonian intelligence chief.

He says the most active fighting is in the Donetsk region's Avdiivka and Bakhmut districts.

In both regions, the armed formations of the Russian Federation advanced. Fortunately, this is to a very minor extent. There are certain shifts in the northwest and west of the Bakhmut district. There were no significant changes at the front, Kiviselg emphasized.

He added that in the area of Avdiivka, the Ukrainian military created two lines of defence to stop the further offensive of the Russian invaders.

In addition, the criminal army of the Russian Federation achieved minor successes in the Donetsk region.

In the south of Ukraine, according to Kiviselg, in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, the enemy is not as active as in the east.

The greatest activity was observed in the directions of Robotine and Verbove, where the Russian Federation tried to advance, — the head of Estonian intelligence emphasised.

On the left bank of the Dnipro River, the Ukrainian armed forces still hold the footholds created there and repel Russian attacks.

What is known about the rapid increase in losses of the Russian army in recent weeks

According to the BBC Russian service, during the last two weeks, journalists of the publication managed to establish the identities of another 1,555 Russian occupiers who died in Ukraine.

In the material, such losses of the Russian occupiers are explained by the battles for Avdiivka and numerous attacks in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

In general, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, it was possible to establish the names of 46 thousand 678 soldiers of the aggressor country, whom Ukrainian defenders killed. These are only those losses that open data have confirmed.

According to our observations, the real number of dead on the Russian side may be twice as high. We came to this conclusion by systematically studying the situation in cemeteries in 70 settlements throughout Russia, — the publication says.
