Hodges: Russia's army won't conduct a repeated offensive on Kharkiv

According to the ex-commander of the US Army in Europe, retired Lieutenant General Ben Hodges, the criminal army of the Russian Federation will not dare to conduct a repeated offensive in the direction of Kharkiv.

Why the Russian occupiers will no longer dare to attack Kharkiv

I do not see evidence of this. When you look at what they are doing now — they are wasting human lives, because they have to sneeze at their own losses — these are endless frontal attacks, poorly prepared and organised, which are trying to break the Ukrainian defenders. And they don't succeed, — notes the retired American military.

According to him in a comment to the journalists of the Sestry publication, the problem is that the command of the occupying Russian army will continue to send a large number of mobilised people to their deaths.

But I don't see them having that opportunity. At least now, — emphasised Hodges.

However, the former American military man accepted the possibility that the Russian occupiers might dare to make a new attempt to attack Kharkiv.

In particular, Hodges emphasised that he currently does not see the necessary number of armoured vehicles in the criminal army of the Russian Federation to capture or surround such a large city as Kharkiv.

But if they have the power to do so, they've done a good job of hiding them because I can't see them now. But I don't have access to classified intelligence, like what satellites see. But I would trust General Zaluzhnyi, the Ukrainian General Staff, they have the opportunity to find out whether there is a significant threat to Kharkiv, — explains the retired American general.

Why is Kremlin propaganda scaring Ukrainians with an offensive on Kharkiv

The representatives of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) point out that analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) have warned of the threat of the creation of airborne units by the occupying Russian army to land in the rear of the Ukrainian military, in particular, in the Kharkiv region.

According to the AFU lieutenant and CCD deputy head Andriy Kovalenko, the "Gostomel" scenario, as during the offensive of the occupiers on Kyiv, is unlikely in the case of Kharkiv, since the AFU have systems capable of quickly destroying enemy aircraft and helicopters.

Kovalenko emphasised that a striking example is the operation to destroy the A-50 aircraft over the Sea of Azov.

CCD analysts note that even at the beginning of a full-scale invasion in February 2022, the criminal army of the Russian Federation failed to land an air assault in Gostomel. Currently, Ukraine already has modern Western air defence systems.

Most likely, the Russian PsyOp will intensify its efforts on this topic. Trust only verified sources of information, the CCD concludes.
