The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) launched the "I Want to Find" project to connect with the families of Russian military personnel. This program will cooperate with the "Our Way Out" institution created by Russian women in Ukraine.

The "I Want to Find" project will work through a chatbot

As Irina Krynina said, she is a co-organiser of the "Our Way Out" movement, which was created by Russian women in Ukraine to search for and return home Russian soldiers. She added that this institution intends to cooperate closely with the "I Want to Find" project.

Our institution will cooperate with the "I Want to Find" project if a person receives confirmation that a soldier is in captivity through a chatbot. The chatbot will redirect to our project "Our Way Out" and we will already hold a consultation and help the Russians bring this problem to the authorities, Irina explained.

According to the speaker of the "I Want to Live" and "I Want to Find" projects, Vitalii MatviIenko, the chatbot of the "I Want to Find" project, is not currently banned in Russia.

Russians can use a VPN if there are any difficulties. Since launch, we expect huge announcements from the Russians every week. And there are even already positive cases, but we will announce them later, MatviIenko said.

Also, the head of the press service of the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, Petro Yatsenko, spoke in an interview with online.ua about the start of the "I Want to Find" project. He emphasised that "I Want to Find" is a project for families of Russians who will be ready to search for their relatives and establish connections, which is equally important.

What is known about the new DIU project "I Want to Find"

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) launched the "I Want to Find" project, within the framework of which relatives of Russian soldiers will be able to search for them, in particular, among prisoners of war.

Unlike Ukraine, Russia does not communicate with family members of the occupiers, does not inform about their fate. This applies to all the dead, missing, prisoners. There were several cases when Ukraine handed over the bodies to the Russian Federation, but the relatives did not receive information, the DIU press service representative Andriy Yusov said.

According to him, as part of the project, all Russian residents will be able to find out all the information about their relatives who were mobilised, from the captured to the dead.

The search will take place through a specially created chatbot.

We expect that the Russians, who will receive the information, will turn to their authorities to return either the body or to transmit information about the prisoner. In general, demand action from the authorities, Matviienko added.
