Two officials were killed by a mine planted by the Russian military while travelling in a UAZ-Patriot car in the Krasnoyaruzsky district in the Russian Belgorod region.
Russian officials blew up a mine
It is reported that the deputy head of the administration of the local Krasnoyaruzhsky District, Ihor Borodayenko, lost his legs as a result of the mine explosion.
He is in intensive care in a serious condition. Galina Pashchenko, the head of the administration of Vyazovske village council, sustained a mine-blast injury, a laceration of the soft tissues on her head.
The third passenger suffered a concussion, closed chest and abdominal injuries.
What is the situation in the Belgorod region
Recently, the regions of Russia bordering Ukraine have been under constant shelling. At the same time, the military leadership of the occupiers, when shelling their territory, blames the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
For example, in May 2022, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that the village of Solokha was allegedly shelled by the Ukrainian military. The shelling killed at least one person and injured six others.
And in October 2023, in the Russian city of Belgorod, residents heard explosions and a fire broke out. Two people died. Then the governor of the Belgorod region said that Belgorod was attacked by a drone, which was allegedly Ukrainian.
Also on 18 November, a military hospital of the Russian army caught fire in Valuyki, the Belgorod region. Residents of Belgorod claim that everything in the hospital burned down. The Russian authorities have not announced the cause of the fire.
